CHAPTER 3
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Section I. LUBRICATION
(NOT REQUIRED)
Section II. TROUBLESHOOTING
INTRODUCTION
The Daily Readiness Check (see 2-133) performed on a daily basis will identify any system failures prior to beginning
daily training routines.
Another troubleshooting aid available to the Instructor/Operator is the Diagnostic Test (see 3-31). In general, Diagnostic
tests should be performed if sight scene problems (streaking, breaking up, object disappearance, etc.) are affecting
training performance.
If failures are detected during the Daily Readiness Check or during normal training, the Instructor/Operator should refer
to the Troubleshooting table in this section.
The Troubleshooting table lists possible equipment problems. It identifies tests or inspections to isolate the problem and
specifies actions to correct the problem. Directions are given to obtain assistance from Organizational Maintenance, as
necessary. To use the table, select the item which describes your equipment problem and perform the actions in the
sequence given. The table assumes that indicator lamps are working properly. However, individual lamp failure should
be suspected and lamps replaced per Chapter 3, Section III, unless other indications (lack of power) prove otherwise.
This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor all tests or inspections and corrective actions.
If a
malfunction is not listed, or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify Organizational Maintenance.
