Socket wrench set -- (Item 89, App C)
Telescoping gage set --
Equipment Conditions:

Second range single disk brakes on
Torque wrench -- (Item 99, App C)
workbench. See page 4-432.
DISASSEMBLE
CAUTION
1. REMOVE PLUG (1) FROM EACH
Shaft collar is installed under spring pressure.
S E C O N D RANGE SINGLE DISK
Do not lose parts when removing pin.
BRAKE (2).
2. REMOVE SPRING (4).
a.
Using 3/8-inch drive ratchet handle and
a. Using 9/16-inch open end wrench,
3/16-inch socket wrench attachment,
press shaft collar (5) and spring (4).
unscrew plug (1).
b. Remove pin (6) from brake piston
Remove and discard preformed
b.
rod (7).
packing (3).
c . Slowly release pressure on spring (4)
c.
Repeat steps 1a and 1b for remaining
Remove collar (5) and spring.
