Install reverse-range clutch apply disk

40. Install 12 piston return springs (1) onto pins (2)

extending from the check valve retainer

assembly.

39. Install reverse-range clutch apply disk (1) and

check valve (2) as an assembly. Check valve

(2) must be inserted in hole (4, step 38, above).

Install six internal-splined and six internal-

tanged. reverse-range clutch disks starting with

internal-splined disk (3). Then install internal-

tanged disk (4) and alternately install the

remainder of the disks.

41. Install right brake stationary cam (1) with its seal

ring and seat it against the piston return springs.

Install sixteen 3/8-16 x 1 1/2-inch, self-locking

bolts (3) and 16 flat washers. Tighten the bolts

to 36 to 43 pound feet torque.
