MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS, AVUM, AVIM

SECTION I.

REPAIR PARTS, SPECIAL TOOLS, TMDE AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

Common tools and equipment. For authorized common tools and equipment,

refer to the Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOE) applicable to

your unit.

Tools for AVUM and AVIM. For AVUM; Tool Set, AVUM, Set No. 1

(NSN 4920-00-159-8727), Tool Set, AVUM, Set No. 2 (NSN 4920-00-567-0476), Tool

Kit, Aircraft Mechanics General (NSN 5180-00-323-4692), Tool Kit, Airframe Repair-

man (NSN 5180-00-323-4876). For AVIM; Shop Set, AVIM, Tool Crib

Special tools, TMDE, and support equipment. No special tools, TMDE, and

support equipment is required.

Repair parts are listed and illustrated in Appendix C of this

manual.

SECTION II. SERVICE UPON RECEIPT

Checking unpacked equipment.

a. Inspect the equipment for damage incurred during shipment. If equipment

has been damaged, report the damage on SF Form 364, Report of Discrepancy.

b. Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if the shipment is com-

plete. Report all discrepancies in accordance with instructions of DA PAM 738-751.

c. Check to see whether equipment has been modified.

Assembly of equipment. When the trailer is received, the tow bar assembly

will be removed and secured to the trailer for shipping purposes. Remove the tow-

bar from its secured position and install according to installation instructions in

Preliminary servicing and adjustment of equipment. Before putting into ser-

vice, the checks and services listed in Table 3-1 must be completed.
