a.  Salt water will cause metal parts to rust and corrode.

b .  Clean, inspect, and lubricate immediately after fording or when tactical situ-
ation permits.

Operation in Mud.
2-9.
When operating with reduced tire pressure, do not exceed 5 mph. Do not
drive for a long distance.
a.
For maximum mobility in mud, reduce tire pressure to 50 psi.
b .  If one or more wheels sink into the mud, it may be required to jack up the
mired wheel and insert planking or matting beneath it.
c.
Clean off all mud as soon as possible after operation.
2-10.
Operation in Dusty or Sandy Areas.
When operating with reduced tire pressure, do not exceed 5 mph. Do not
drive for a long distance.
a.
For maximum mobility in sand, reduce tire pressure to 50 psi.
b. Frequently clean, inspect and lubricate to prevent excessive wear.
