3-7. DISASSEMBLY (CONT)
1. DRIVE END ADAPTER PLATE.
a. Remove drive end adapter plate coupling clamp
(1).
b. Check clamp for deformation or broken welds.
Replace if defective.
c. Remove adapter plate (2) from exciter stator (3).
d. Remove and discard gasket (4) from groove in
inner face of adapter plate (2).
e. Check sealing surface of adapter plate for any
scratches that would prevent sealing.
