8. Generator Drive Shaft.
a. Lay generator housing (1) on its side, and slide generator drive shaft (2) through bore in armature shaft (3)
until tapered splines engage at commutator--end of armature shaft.
b. Install shouldered and recessed washer (4) on commutator--end of armature shaft (3) so offset outer portion
of washer flares outward away from installed ball bearing (5).
