90 Position torque converter housing (1) so that it

rests on the engine (front) mounting flange.

89 Install the proper spacer or spacers (3) and

The spacers selected to meet the

1.566 dimension, plus the retainer

thickness of approximately 0.016

91 Position one external-tanged clutch disk (3) and

one internal-splined clutch disk (4) on

intermediate-range clutch piston (5). Install ring

gear (2), counterbored side down, on the clutch

disks so that ring (1) rests on clutch disk (4) with

the splines engaged.
