SECTION I. GENERAL INFORMATION
1-1. Scope.
Type of Manual: Operator and Intermediate Level
Equipment Name: Electric/Instrument Shop, NSN 4920-01-139-4534.
Purpose of Equipment: To provide instrument and electric repair in support for non-divisional aviation units. This
shop is utilized in conjunction with other maintenance shops in the AVIM support unit.

1-3. Reporting equipment improvement recommendations (EIR).
If your Electric/Instrument Shop needs improvement, let us know. Send us an EIR. You, the user, are the only one
who can tell us what you don't like about your equipment. Let us know why you don't like the design. Put it on an SF 68
(Quality Deficiency Report). Mail it to: Commander, U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command, ATTN: AMSAV-MMD, 4300
Goodfellow Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63120-1798. We will send you a reply.
1-4. Destruction of Army materiel to prevent enemy use.
Instructions for destruction of this equipment are contained in TM 750-244-14, Procedures for Destruction of Aviation
Ground Support Equipment (FSC 4920), to Prevent Enemy Use.
1-5. Preparation for storage or shipment.
For general technical information on preparation for storage and shipment refer to TM 55-1500-204-25/1 and
TM 743-200-1. For regulatory requirements pertaining to equipment placed in administrative storage refer to AR 750-1.
