Remove all burrs and make sure the gear surface on the end of the crankshaft is smooth.
CAUTION
The gear will be permanently distorted if heated for longer than 45 minutes.

Heat the crankshaft gear for 45 minutes at 250 (121 ) as shown in FIGURE 4-67.

WARNING
Wear Protective gloves.

Install the hot gear up to the crankshaft shoulder with the timing mark out.
e.
Replace straight pin (7, FIGURE 4-68) and bearing sleeves (2 and 5).
