EXERCISE RUNNING - FREEZE PROCEDURE
This procedure describes what options are available and how to select them when an exercise has been
stopped(FREEZE) prior to completion.
NOTE
All five keypad options will not be available until at least one situation on Situation Monitor display is completed.
1.
Observe the Situation Monitor "Status:
Exercise Running - Freeze" (1) with "Keypad Options: Perf, Repeat, Playback, Print, Terminate" (2).

Determine which keypad option is desired and press the associated key on keypad (3):
a.
PERF ANAL - This key calls up the Performance Analysis display page for an analysis of the crew's
performance to the point where the exercise was frozen. To print the Performance Analysis display page
on the Terminal Printer, press the PRINT key on keypad (3) after the Performance Analysis display page
has been called up.
b.
REPEAT - This key resets the Situation Monitor back to the first situation. To restart, press the
FREEZE/UNFREEZE key on keypad (3). Switch settings in the Crew Station may need resetting before
the exercise can be re started.
c.
PLAYBACK - This key calls the Exercise Playback Situation Monitor to play back the exercise and watch the
crew's performance. To run Playback, (see 2-170).
d.
PRINT - This key prints the Situation Monitor or Performance Analysis display as shown on the Display
Terminal.
e.
TERMINATE - This key returns the Display Terminal to the Exercise select/Session Summary display page
for another exercise selection or termination of the training session.

To restart the exercise at the point where it was frozen, press the FREEZE/UNFREEZE key on the keypad. The
exercise may be run to completion (see 2-164) or the Exercise Running-Freeze procedure repeated at a later
point in the exercise.
