RECOVERY FROM CATASTROPHIC POWER FAILURE PROCEDURE
In the event of an external power failure or operator-initiated emergency electrical shut-down (see 2-214), the main circuit
breakers in the Computer and Integration Shelters will trip automatically. The air conditioners, normal lighting, and
electronic equipment will go off. Battery operated emergency lights will turn on automatically and the Fire *Control Panel
system trouble alarm will sound. Operation cannot be resumed unless external power is restored and the main circuit
breakers are manually reset. To restore operation after a catastrophic power failure, perform the following procedure.
WARNING
Do not remain in shelters with all doors and vents closed unless at least one air conditioner blower is operating.
Suffocation can result from lack of fresh air. If external power is off for more than five minutes, clear the shelters of
personnel until operation is restored.
NOTE
If external power is not restored within two hours, notify organizational maintenance. Emergency light batteries may
totally discharge after two hours of operation and you may not be able to power up the system due to battery discharge
within the Fire Control Panel.
1.
In Computer Shelter at AC Power Line Protection Panel (1), make sure that three green indicator lamps (2) are
on
or come on when external power is restored.
NOTE
To reset circuit breaker after it has tripped, the toggle must be pulled firmly to the OFF position until it clicks, before
resetting to ON.

ON. Close panel door.
5.
In Trainer Shelter, at Fire Control Panel (8), make sure SYSTEM TROUBLE indicator (9) and audible alarm go
off
and only the AC ONE indicator (10) lights green. If AC ON indicator (10) does not light, or if any of the other
panel indicators are on, leave the shelters and notify organizational maintenance.
