Mica (7) must be cut away clean between segments (8).

Mica (7) must not be left with a thin edge next to segments (8).

WARNING

Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not

exceed 30 psi. Use only with effective chip guarding and

personal protective equipment (goggles/shield, gloves,

etc.).

After undercutting, remove all copper and mica particles with compressed air.

m. Put armature (5) back in lathe and set for 1500 to 2500 rpm. Use no. 3/0 sandpaper to polish commutator (3)

while armature is rotating
