CLEANING
WARNING
Dry-cleaning solvent used to
parts is
dangerous to personnel and property. Do
not use near open flame or excessive heat. Flash
point of solvent is 138 "F.
A Clean gasket mating surfaces with dry-cleaning solvent
(item 8, Appx C) or mineral spirits paint thinner (item 21,
Wipe dry with clean, lint-free cloth (item 6, Appx C).

Flush cup assembly (1) with clean diesel fuel.

Dry cup oil ports with clean, filtered,
compressed air.

C Remove drive gear (6) and idler shaft (7).
Soak all metal parts in clean receptacle containing rust

D Remove retaining ring

and key
Wipe metal parts dry with clean, lint-free cloth (item 6,

Remove gear assembly (11) and thrust washer (12).

Remove plug
from cover assembly (4).
Coat all parts with oil prior to assembly (item 16, Appx C).
