17. SCREW SLIDE HAMMER ADAPTER (1)
CAUTION
INTO PLUG (2).
Seat retaining ring firmly in groove. Damage
to equipment can occur if ring is not properly
seated.
18. PLACE RETAINING RING (3) ON
PLUG (2) WITH SHARP EDGE
20. INSTALL RETAINING RING (3).
FACING OUT.
a. Using retaining-ring pliers, install
retaining ring (3) with sharp
19. USING ARBOR PRESS, APPLY
edge out.
PRESSURE TO ADAPTER (1) TO MOVE
PLUG (2) BELOW RETAINING
b. Release pressure and remove
RING SLOT (4).
assembly (5) from press.
21. SEAT PLUG (2)
Place assembly (5) in vise.

Thread slide hammer (6) into
b.
adapter (1).
Pull out plug (2) until it seats against
c.
retaining ring (3). Remove adapter (1).
d.
Coat setscrew (7) with sealant
compound and install.
22. U S I N G 1/4-lNCH DRIVE TORQUE
WRENCH AND 3/32-lNCH SOCKET
WRENCH ATTACHMENT, TORQUE
SETSCREW (7) TO 10-15 in-lb
(12-17 cmkg).
23. REMOVE ASSEMBLY (5) FROM
VISE
