12. Lubricate new packing (7) with grease or petrolatum and install packing in groove in housing (4).

13. Lubricate new packing (8) with grease or petrolatum and install packing in bearing retainer housing (3).

14. Install cartridge assembly (2) in housing (4) as follows:

Clean threads of four cap screws (6). Apply a light coat of antiseize compound to threads.

Install laminated shim (1), cartridge assembly (2), and bearing retainer housing (3) on housing (4) and secure with

four key washers (5) and cap screws (6).

Tighten four cap screws (6) to 144-180 lb-in (17-20 Nm) torque. Use torque wrench and socket set.

Bend tabs on four key washers (5).
