High Pressure Pump Belt Test/adjust belt tension
a. On left side of RO desalinator, remove 10
machine screws and remove louvered panel from
unit.
b. On main frame assembly, remove 11 machine
screws from angle brackets and remove pulley
guard from main frame assembly.
c.
At midpoint between drive pulley and pump
pulley, press downward on one belt to allow
1/2-inch deflection between pulleys.
d. If belt deflects more than 1/2 inch, adjust
tension as follows
(1) Loosen four hexagon nuts on adjustable
pump base.
(2) Turn tension adjustment (on left side of
base) clockwise to increase belt tension
or counterclockwise to lessen belt
tension.
(3) Secure four hexagon nuts on adjustable
pump base.
(4) Check belt tension again.
(5) Readjust tension if necessary.
e. Position pulley guard inside main frame
assembly and secure with 11 machine screws
through angle brackets.
f.
Position louvered panel and secure with 11
machine screws.
