REPAIR

a. Remove the right side protective cover.

b. Lift the tensioner and remove drive belt from the water pump pulley.

Remove two capscrews (1).

d. Remove water pump (2) and preformed packing (3). Discard preformed packing.

e. Inspect pump.

Inspect the impeller blades for wear or corrosion.

(2)

Inspect for free rotation of the pump.

(3)

Check the weep hole for seal leakage.

Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder block.

g. Position the new preformed packing (3) into the groove in the water pump housing.
