EQUIPMENT DATA
The Alternator is used on the M109A4 Self-Propelled Howitzer. The Alternator's operating
ambient temperature is -65 to 165F, and has direct drive with reversible rotation. At 2800 to
8000 rpm, the Alternator produces 28 volts and 180 amperes (nominal). The weight is 47
pounds.

SAFETY CARE AND HANDLING
Avoid dropping the Alternator so as not to harm yourself or damage the equipment. Be
careful not to damage any threads when removing or installing the Alternator. Be
careful not to damage the threads or pins of the connector assembly.
WARNING
Energized systems and equipment can burn you. If MASTER SWITCH is ON,
electrical system and equipment will be energized. Make sure MASTER SWITCH
is OFF when you work on electrical systems or equipment.
