ae. Inspect housing for scratches, burrs, and nicks on machined surfaces. Minor defects shall be repaired if the

defects affect fit or function.

af. Inspect threads in tapped holes in housing for damaged threads. Replace housing if the threads are stripped.

ag. Check attaching screws for pole shoes to make sure each is tight and staked to housing.

ah. Inspect insulation and ties on field coils and leads in housing. If insulation appears burned or cracked, entire

housing must be replaced.

ai. Make continuity/resistance measurements of housing using a multimeter (Simpson 260 or equivalent) set on

Rx1 scale. Meter connections and readings shall be as follows. Replace housing if readings are not as shown.
