retaining ring. Retaining ring

injured. Always wear goggles.
65. INSTALL SHIM (1) AND RETAINING
RING (2).
a . (H) Reach in through controller
opening (3) and pry up cross
shaft (4).
b. Install shim (1).
c . Using retaining-ring pliers, install
retaining ring (2).
66. MEASURE GAP BETWEEN RETAINING
RING (2) AND SHIM (1).
a. (H) Pry up cross shaft (4) through
controller opening (3).
b. Measure gap between retaining
ring (2) and shim (1). Lower cross
shaft (4).
c. If gap is 0.028-0.037 inch
(0.71-0.94 mm), go to step 71. If
not, go to step 67.
