CLEANING/INSPECTION

Clean with solvent and a lint free cloth.

Inspect the lobes and journals of the shaft for cracking, pitting or scoring.

Inspect the gear teeth for pitting. Check for cracks at root of gear teeth. (FIGURE 4-28).
