3-10d. DISCHARGING THE REFRIGERANT SYSTEM. - continued
NOTE
In accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
regulations, refrigerants can not be discharged into the
atmosphere. A refrigerant recovery/recycling unit must be used
whenever discharging the refrigeration system.
1. Connect the yellow 1/4 inch (charge) hose to an approved refrigerant recovery/recycling unit.
CAUTION
Follow instructions for specific container or refrigerant recovery
unit being used to avoid compressor oil loss. Loss of oil could
result in compressor damage.
2. Open pressure gauge and compound gauge valves.
NOTE
Operation of the recovery/recycling unit must be by authorized
personnel only.
3. Operate the recovery/recycling unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
