SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS
GENERAL.
2. 1.1
T h i s section contains the precautions necessary
to prevent hazards or injuries to personnel during
i n s t a l l a t i o n , operation or maintenance of the
Oxygen Servicing Unit.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS WHEN HANDLING OXYGEN.
O x y g e n may cause violent ex-
plosions when in contact with any
t y p e of combustible material,
p a r t i c u l a r l y hydrocarbons. Such
explosions could cause death or
injury to personnel and/or damage
to equipment.
1.
P e r s o n n e l operating or repairing the Oxygen
S e r v i c i n g Unit must be familiar with safety
r e g u l a t i o n s regarding the handling of oxygen.
2.
No smoking is allowed within 50 feet of the
Oxygen Servicing Unit.
3.
A l l parts which are used as replacement of
parts that come into contact with oxygen must
b e  certified  "CLEANED  FOR  OXYGEN
SERVICE."
4.
All open connectors must be protected with
p l a s t i c protectors (dust covers).
